PANAMA - Abu, Geisha Natural GN1710

The Abu Geisha Lot 1710 is an exceptional coffee produced by Abu Coffee, located in Panama's Boquete region. Cultivated at an altitude of 1,550 metres above sea level, this Geisha varietal benefits from the region's unique microclimate, characterised by fertile volcanic soils and a humid, misty environment known locally as "Bajareque." These conditions contribute to the coffee's distinctive flavour profile.

This lot undergoes a meticulous Double Phase Submerged Anaerobic Natural process. The whole cherries first experience a 72-hour sun pre-drying on elevated beds, followed by a 96-hour anaerobic fermentation in sealed GrainPro bags submerged in spring water. After fermentation, the cherries are returned to elevated beds for a final sun-drying phase lasting 25 days. This innovative processing method enhances the coffee's complexity and vibrant character.

In the cup, the Abu Geisha Lot 1710 presents a harmonious blend of pomegranate, pink guava, passion fruit, strawberry, and chocolate notes. The initial sip reveals a burst of juicy pomegranate and pink guava, complemented by the sweetness of passion fruit and strawberry, all rounded off with a subtle hint of chocolate.
