Michael Torres recently took first place in the Brewers Cup championship in Chile using a striped Bourbon from Granja Paraíso 92 paired with APAX LAB for his water.

Why did you choose APAX LAB to make your water for the competition?

I chose APAX LAB because they are different. I appreciate their innovative thinking and above all the high quality standards of their products.

How did the mineral concentrates help you win the contest?

Preparing the best cup of coffee involves many variables, as well as choosing the right coffee and brewing method, but the most important factor for me is water, since it makes up the majority of the coffee and directly influences the flavour profile.

That said, the mineral concentrates not only improved the quality and taste of the water, but also added a differentiating value by highlighting the characteristics of my coffee, which was crucial to winning this championship.

What is your favourite APAX LAB profile?

Difficult to choose just one, but TONIK [1] gave me the best result according to my type of coffee and brought the acidity that it needed to make for the perfect brew.

Finally, what was your winning water recipe with APAX LAB?

After several trials, I finally used only two profiles, 2g of TONIK [1] and 1g of JAMM [2] per L of demineralised water. This combination gave me the results I was looking for in the cup.
