A practical guide to unlocking depth, texture & harmony in your coffee
KONFLUX is best thought of as a finishing move.
It doesn’t try to change the flavour identity of a coffee — instead, it brings everything together. Developed on the competition stage and refined through real-world brewing, KONFLUX enhances mouthfeel, sweetness and balance, making coffees feel rounder, smoother and more complete.
If you’ve ever brewed a coffee that tasted great but felt like it was missing something, KONFLUX is often the answer.

What is KONFLUX
KONFLUX is a mineral concentrate designed to enhance the tactile experience of coffee.
Here is what KONFLUX brings to the cup:
- Increase perceived body and mouthfeel
- Enhance sweetness and depth
- Smooth transitions from acidity to finish
- Create a more cohesive, harmonious cup
Rather than amplifying brightness or intensity, KONFLUX focuses on structure — how flavours sit together and how the coffee feels from first sip to aftertaste.
Signs your coffee could benefit from KONFLUX
You’ll often reach for KONFLUX when:
- The coffee tastes good but feels thin or flat
- Flavours are clear but disconnected
- Sweetness is present but lacks depth
- The finish drops off too quickly
- You want a more indulgent, rounded mouthfeel
It’s especially useful for filter, espresso and competition brewing — anywhere the tactile experience matters as much as flavour clarity.
Things to watch out for if you overdo it with KONFLUX
Like any seasoning, KONFLUX rewards restraint.
- Over-dosing can make the cup feel heavy or cloying
- Too much can mask delicate nuances
- Can become chalky if overdosed
Balance first. Intensity second.
Types of coffees that pair especially well with KONFLUX
KONFLUX works across a wide range of styles, but it truly shines with coffees that already have character and just need refinement.
Intense coffees that need more balance
Bold, expressive coffees — whether high-impact origins or experimental processes — can sometimes feel a bit chaotic. KONFLUX helps round sharp edges, calm excess intensity, and bring everything back into balance.
Washed or light-roasted coffees that need more texture
Clean, bright coffees often deliver beautiful clarity but lack mid-palate weight. KONFLUX fills out the cup, adding substance and mouthfeel without muting acidity or origin character.
Natural or anaerobic coffees that need more depth and structure
Fruit-forward coffees can be exciting but occasionally one-dimensional. KONFLUX adds depth and structure, grounding sweetness and helping flavours feel more layered and intentional.
Using KONFLUX with other APAX profiles
KONFLUX really comes alive when layered with other APAX profiles. Rather than replacing them, it acts as a binding agent — bringing cohesion, texture and balance to the cup.
KONFLUX + TONIK
Ideal for washed coffees that are bright and expressive but need more texture. TONIK enhances clarity and brightness, while KONFLUX fills out the mid-palate and finish, giving the cup more presence without dulling acidity.
KONFLUX + JAMM
A favourite for natural and anaerobic coffees that have plenty of intensity but need balance. JAMM brings sweetness and weight, while KONFLUX smooths edges and helps integrate bold flavours into a more harmonious whole.
KONFLUX + LYLAC
For when refinement is the goal. LYLAC highlights elegance and structure, while KONFLUX deepens the tactile experience. This pairing doubles down on harmony, making coffees feel seamless, polished and complete.
Used this way, KONFLUX isn’t about adding more — it’s about bringing everything into alignment.
How to use KONFLUX
Using KONFLUX is simple, but subtlety is key.
1. Shake well before use
Always shake the bottle to ensure even mineral distribution.
2. Choose your dosing method
- In brew water: approximately 3–4 g per litre
- Directly in the cup: 1–10 drops per 200 mL, depending on desired effect
3. Taste and adjust
Start low and build gradually. KONFLUX is powerful — small changes make a noticeable difference.
For best control and repeatability, we recommend starting with demineralised water and building your recipe intentionally.
